What the analytics numbers mean
Views, unique viewers, time viewed, completion and per-slide reading.
Lumdeck reports presentation activity without cookies. A view means a browser opened the deck; visible time and slide events do not prove that someone read or understood the content.
The numbers
| Number | What it counts |
|---|---|
| Views | Recorded deck openings in the selected period. Your own workspace members are excluded unless you include team views. |
| Unique viewers | Daily estimates from an anonymous fingerprint, not identified people. |
| Time viewed | Seconds the deck was visible on screen, added across views. Background-tab time does not count. |
| Completion | Views that reached the last slide, when slide events are available. |
| Per slide | Aggregate visible seconds and views that reached each slide, across the selected presentation audience. |
What each plan shows
Free limits include 30 days of presentation view totals. Pro and Team add aggregate per-slide engagement and audience, country and device breakdowns. Team also adds per-share-link view totals and average viewing time, CSV export and a workspace overview. See Pricing for retention and current limits.
The slide chart and link chart are separate breakdowns. There is no per-slide-by-link or per-person reading report. A label such as “Investor A” identifies the link you issued, not necessarily the person using it; anyone with access may forward it.
Link counters and analytics totals
The Share dialog's link counter tracks lifetime openings used by that link's view limit. Analytics uses the selected date range and audience filters, and excludes your own workspace by default. These counters answer different questions and need not match. Compare the same period and audience before interpreting a difference.
How unique viewers are estimated
For each view Lumdeck computes a fingerprint from the network address and browser, mixed with a value replaced every day. The address itself is not stored in the view record. A viewer opening the deck on different days can count once on each day; devices and shared networks can also affect the estimate. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control views still count without a fingerprint.
When slide numbers look wrong
Per-slide engagement depends on the deck reporting which slide is showing. Compatible reveal.js decks are detected automatically. If a deck puts all time on slide 1, it may navigate in a way Lumdeck cannot detect; add the events in the deck protocol. Test your exported deck before relying on its slide reports.
