Publish a deck made in ChatGPT

Turn a ChatGPT canvas or code answer into a single HTML file you can upload.

ChatGPT can write a full presentation as HTML in a canvas or a code answer. Exporting HTML gives you a separate presentation file to publish with Lumdeck’s access controls and analytics. Save the HTML once, upload it to Lumdeck, and send a link anyone can open.

1. Ask for one self-contained file

Prompt
Create a 10-slide presentation about <topic> as a single self-contained HTML file.
All CSS and JavaScript inline, 16:9 slides, one slide visible at a time,
arrow keys and space to navigate. Give me the file to download.

Asking for "the file to download" usually makes ChatGPT attach an .html file you can save directly.

2. Save the HTML

  • A download link in the answer: click it and keep the .html file.
  • A canvas: copy the code from the canvas, paste it into a plain-text editor (TextEdit in plain-text mode, Notepad, VS Code) and save it as deck.html. Save as plain text, not as a document.
  • Several files (HTML plus images): put them in one folder with the main page named index.html, zip the folder and upload the zip.

3. Upload and share

  1. In Lumdeck, choose Upload presentation and drop the file.
  2. If the check refuses something, the report says which file and why; see what an upload may contain.
  3. Choose Share, create a link and send it. See share links.

Common problems

  • The slides look unstyled: the HTML refers to a stylesheet that is not in the file. Ask ChatGPT to inline all CSS, or zip the stylesheet with the page.
  • Images are missing: images were referenced from a site the viewer does not load. Ask for inline SVG, or include the images in a zip.
  • Slide reading shows only one slide: the deck does not tell Lumdeck when the slide changes. Ask ChatGPT to follow the deck protocol.

Publish from ChatGPT

Lumdeck has a remote MCP server and a REST API on every plan within its limits. See API and MCP for what each AI client supports today.

What the recipient sees

A shared Lumdeck viewer opens the presentation in a browser. Unrestricted links need no Lumdeck account; password and e-mail gates ask for their required checks. Test the exact exported deck on the devices your audience uses, especially nested interactive modules. A report control is available from the viewer.
