Lumdeck and Google Slides sharing
Choose collaborative slide editing or delivery of an existing HTML deck.
Use Google Slides when you want to create and collaborate on a slide document in Google's tools. Use Lumdeck when you already have a standalone HTML presentation and want to share that code's rendered output, with controlled links and reading statistics.
Different starting points
| Need | Google Slides / Drive | Lumdeck |
|---|---|---|
| Work together on a slide document | Viewer, commenter and editor permissions | Workspace roles manage uploaded decks; no slide editor |
| Public link access | Anyone-with-the-link can open without signing in when that option is permitted | Anyone-with-the-link can view without an account |
| Restricted access | Drive sharing restrictions and organisation policies apply | Password, email-code and named access options |
| Existing interactive HTML | Check an appropriate export or hosting workflow | Upload a single HTML file or validated ZIP |
A Google account is not universally required to view a shared Google file. Organisation policies and the chosen sharing mode determine access. Do not move a deck merely to solve a restriction that its owner can change in Drive.
When HTML changes the decision
A custom simulation, animated SVG chart or clickable prototype may already be written in HTML. Lumdeck serves that bundle in an isolated viewer; it does not recreate the deck as editable Google Slides. Check that the demo uses supported files and network behavior, and test on the devices your recipients use.
Google sharing facts checked 7 October 2026: Share files from Google Drive (opens in a new tab). Compare actual recipient access and your organisation's policies before selecting a workflow. See Lumdeck share links for the controls on this side.
